Learn With Us

Tuned In Kids offers families a variety of ways kids can learn instrumental music.

Classes are offered live online via Zoom

In person classes are available at Chatham PS, Melbourne.

Instruments taught are Ukulele, Keyboard, Guitar, Singing, Drums and Trumpet

Early Primary kids who have never ‘seriously’ learned an instrument are highly recommended to begin learning with ukulele for good reasons (with exceptions – we are happy to discuss with you).

Our Philosophy and Approach to teaching and learning instrumental music are the pillars which support all our programs.

Dassana, our fabulously warm and relatable parent support person, will give you a short phone call to find out a bit more, and answer your questions. A Zoom call is also possible. At this time you can book your child in for a Complimentary Discovery Session.

Next step is the Discovery Session.  This happens on Zoom with Yanai Morris, our kid coach and teacher.

The Complimentary Discovery Session

This is a fun, engaging and low-pressure experience for parents and kids.

It is a required part of the process as it enables a few essential things to happen:

  • You and your child get to meet both Yanai and Dassana, experience the online classroom and ask as many questions as either of you wish.
  • Yanai can assess your child to see if they are developmentally ready to learn to play the ukulele, or their instrument of choice. It’s so important that kids are set up to succeed. Our priority is what is best for your child – we will let you know if we think it best to wait a bit longer before your child begins music classes.
  • Prior experience with either ukulele or another instrument? Yanai can very quickly gauge if your child can join an existing group ukulele class, or needs some 1:1 classes first.
  • At the end of the session either we all have a chat about next steps, or you might like to take some additional time to consider your options etc.

Our Programs

Quirky Kids

Online, live
1:1 classes

Our Quirky Kids program is highly personalised to the specific needs of young learners. It supports the individual goals of both yourself and your child, as well as their personality, preferences in music, emotional expression and learning styles.

1:1 classes are great for kids who prefer or need a personalised space.

They are perfect for kids who learn best with focused time with a teacher.

Lots of our QK students are neurodivergent – they can relax and be themselves in their learning time with Yanai.

Instruments available are Ukulele, Keyboard, Drums, Singing, Trumpet and Guitar (acoustic, electric and bass)

Zoomkulele

Online, live,
small group classes

Ukulele is the only instrument offered in group classes.

Kids are grouped at the same ability level, and classes are crafted to accommodate the teaching and learning processes needed for individual students.

Group learning with TIK supports kids to find ways to regulate their behaviour, learn how to be part of a group and normalise their experiences and feelings.

Kids can celebrate each other’s successes, and support each other through struggles, in a way not possible in the context of their regular school classes.

Ukulele Workshops

In person (not online)

We create interactive workshops for kids of all ages – and also grown ups!

School Holiday Fun and Festivals in partnership with Local Councils

Private Bespoke Events

In Melbourne and surrounding regions.

We bring the ukuleles to you – literally!

Flexible Learning Options
